Is the future gym our own home ?

With everything that’s going on right now, do you still believe gyms are going to be around for long?

Typical gym right now.

Lately, as you may have noticed, there is a pretty stubborn virus going around threatening our health and our own sanity more or less.

This pandemic has resulted the closure of gyms all over the world and going to the gym nowadays doesn’t seem as a choice and on the contrary that possibility doesn’t exist anymore.

So, where should we train now ?

Well, when in isolation, there aren’t that many choices.

And here’s why I strongly believe that our home is the future of training:

1. Quality in training is just phenomenal!

The GOAT

It may not be obvious at first, but something great starts taking place as soon as you focus solely on yourself.

You are in a space where you literally have to face only yourself.

It kinda reminds me of the running races I used to run, where I only had to face my soul and I was always on the verge of my physical condition.

I know it sounds crazy, but for me has worked miracles nevertheless.

Your mental health elevates to a whole new level and your focus is just supreme.

2. Isolation is underrated.

For the majority of us, working out among others is not ideal.

Self consciousness kicks in and it blocks in a way your elite performance. Imagine a non — existing break that prevents you from delivering the best results of your life.

Though it exists unfortunately. In our heads.

We’ve learnt to adapt to this condition and to be proud of ourselves. No matter what. That should be always the case.

However, for those that were never pretty easy to loosen up in public, here lays a tremendous opportunity waiting for us to take full advantage of.

And that is, the unique ability of a person to give its all when no-one is watching.

By that way, you can develop an iron- bending mentality that doesn’t relate to what’s happening outside your own machine of a body.

You’re unbeatable. Inside — out !
And that’s a killer combo.

3. Equipment doesn’t matter.

There. I said it.

It is my firm opinion that if you’re starting out at anything, you just need to start. No matter how little or nothing you may or may not have. Just take the first step and time will be by your side.

That same principle applies here as well.

Your own body can perform all the basics for a proper workout. Don’t take my word for it. Just google “how workouts no equipment”. You’ll thank me later. It’s literally that easy.

And as you propel yourself forward, you can add to your collection piece by piece if you still want to.

4. Habitual behaviour should not be taken lightly.

Scientists have concluded that it only takes an average human from 18 to 251 days to form an actual habit and stick to it.

That study took place in 2009 and was conducted by the European Journal of Social Psychology.

As a matter of fact, we’ve been — unfortunately — in lockdown for far more than this amount of days,

so if any of you has actually taken home workouts seriously, then I’d say you’re in luck.

That stuff may actually be closer than we think.

Conclusion

Gym will always be there when the pandemic ends.

Will we be in the gyms though?

More and more online services are made every single day for exercising in home during quarantine.

For me, you should heavily invest in this sector while it’s in its youth and you can harvest the gains of your pain later on.
