What I learned from Netflix’s “Social Dilemma”
Last week, I finally caught up with this documentary and here are
8 things I learnt from it:
1. Social Media aren’t innocent.
It may be simple enough to explain to anyone at first, but not anyone can understand this simple prefix. Social Media used to exist and will continue to thrive because they have their own business purposes. And in fact, those purposes tend to surpass us all. So, Social Media aren’t just tools that await to be used. They are well — crafted business with specific — set targets — economically and politically — that have at their disposal whatever they need to get us to use them whenever they want. Push notifications and constant e- mails are just common examples of this plague.
2. If there’s no price for the product, you are the product.
This is the catchphrase I just can’t seem to forget from the whole documentary. These huge companies are selling…
