Why are relationships superficial ?

This whole internal research in order to answer this question, has been sparked by a reader and a good friend of mine, who calmly suggested the idea of examining why today’s amorous relationships between two people tend to be so superficial without any deeper meaning or purpose.

It may seem as a such complicated issue but when broken down it feels astonishingly clear why two people nowadays tend to have trouble finding meaning in their joined lives and perhaps even a reason to be together.

  1. Everything is easy. That simple, that straight. A man seeks a woman’s attention, so he simply follows her on Instagram. They chat back and forth a couple of times, they go on a date and they hook up. As a crucial part of every good hunting game, nothing should be that easy to get. Nothing. Especially a person, a way of communication, flirting and achieving the greatest achievement of all, getting the girl.
  2. Men are full of shit. Preparing myself for the raid I am about to get any minute soon, allow me to include myself among them and tell you how exactly you’re going to get out of their game and shit them back.
A great man had said once ‘’Everything is about sex. Except sex. Sex is about power.” Taking that thought on a whole new level and leaving the latter part for another time, it can give us a tremendous insight on what men’s logic around women is. It should be no surprise for any woman that any given guy thinks that way. They are ready to say and do whatever it takes, whatever women wanna hear in order to get laid. If you have zero expectations and you implement reverse psychology on them, you just make them feel pointless. Test them, tell them what they wanna hear too, make them believe they can get you to bed, tease them and when they’re about to explode remove every single power they have bye imply walking away. Remember, everything for men is about sex. If women remove that part, the effort, the power of dominance and hedonic pleasure men tend to get from them by feeling superior, cocky and flirting, then all that’s left is simply the act of sex. And quite frankly, there is no bigger turnoff than that.
  3. Capitalism. Let me explain myself. Today’s world is so engaged with everything else, apart from the human condition. We’ve been constantly accused by the experts of this relationship thingie as people who strictly execute and neglect their humanitarian existence. And that’s forcefully abrasive but so fucking true. We’re living a rat race. We are the rats, working all day and trying to figure out what we’re doing wrong. Nothing. That’s the problem. If we did something at least, we would fail. And we would have the right, the chance, the all to get back up on our feet. Nowadays though, we simply can’t catch a breath. Running from one office to another, from point A to point B in a giant pool of rats that we call ‘city’, in order to catch the next ‘rat train’ and go make some more money. On the flip side, we are deep inside alone creatures that seek evaluation, confidence and recognition. The hunger for those values in our modern society is quite huge. And the supply not so high either. So men and women take advantage of each other in oder to have ‘fun’ and nothing more. It’s easy, it’s awful, it’s pointless that way.
  4. We are afraid. Of everything. We’re afraid of exposing ourselves out there. Of making a mistake. Of trying to be so fucking perfect every single time. Of what the society is going to gossip. Of what our own parents and friends are going to think about us. But most importantly, we’re afraid of our fucking selves. We don’t have the limited amount of humility to look in the mirror and spit our own poison to our face. Face our own internal problems and judgments and project them to a higher purpose. To reflect our biggest fears for once and feel somewhat fine with what we are and fucking proud of what we’ve become. We are a result of our own choices and that’s all we should know. Regret for nothing but only for the things we didn’t do. Just do whatever makes you happy and you should be fine. Stop thinking of that someone who broke you once and start believing in the next one who’s going to tape you back together as if nothing had happened in the first place.

With love,
Nick
